Hanging, Slanging and Banging

February 2
Greetings!
Here we are, two months into the calendar year.
Prayers you survived the holiday season without too many bumps and bruises and were actually able to make and share some delightful memories.
This is my birthday month! Celebrate along with me by committing to spreading a little love and light out into the world. This is an imperative during these unprecedented times.
It may be difficult, but keep shining, soon come, your light will cut a path through the darkness.
My work is an expression of these beliefs.
My poetry, my art, my writing, this is my ministry.
Don’t worry, though. Promise I don’t get too preachy.
I’d like to give a huge expression of gratitude to Melissa Sepulveda, Director of Bilingual Services at Maywood School District 89.
Following up on my appearance at their Literacy Night Event back in October, Melissa reached out and arranged for the bulk purchase of my children’s book series, What Daddy Do, to be shared across all of the District’s libraries, as well as the digital license for both What Daddy Do and What Mommy Do, which will be available for use by all District staff.
I remain excited to share this awesome children’s book series and to see the look of joy in the eyes of the students as they are drawn in to these delightful celebrations of family love.
You can of course reach out to me for the purchase of your own, an awesome gift to share with your young one or grandchild, nephew, niece or neighborhood rugrat.
I am also excited for the progress made on Book II of Bealz: Prince of the Southside.
I am very close to finishing up the initial draft. I’m at the point where the story has taken off, charging forward with a momentum all its own. I’m just trying to hang on as it takes me on a wild ride!
Bealz: Prince of the Southside Book I has been garnering great reviews. I’ve been flattered and humbled by the response it has received so far and I am looking forward to inviting more people to check it out for themselves, even as I work to expand on the world(or worlds, rather) and mythology I’ve created and set loose.
Soon come, I will even have word on a ‘spinoff’ series, of a sort, further investigating the repercussions of the final battle in Book I, so keep an eye out for my Pulp Urban Fantasy offering, Mama Josie, as my man, Jacob Floyd, EIC at Nightmare Press, and I get to it and start polishing this gem to get it ready for release.
Let me wrap this thing up by urging you to check me out in my latest interview on Herschel Sterling’s Easytopia Podcast. We talk about my inspirations and expectations, love, life and much more in an enjoyable back and forth that features a reading of my short story, Til Death Do An Avatar Depart, previously published in the Spare Parts Lit anthology https://sparepartslit.wixsite.com/sparepartslit/art-ificial
and featured in my short story collection, The Wayward Home For Retired Superheroes And More Astonishing Tales From The Hood https://a.co/d/0bHeiNgX
as a well as an excerpt from my debut novel, Bealz: Prince of the Southside https://a.co/d/0be5NNKm
